Synopsis
A young man trying to overcome his self-doubt; quirky friends offering advice that - we all know - usually make us feel more awkward than what we did before.
At first glance, you might be fooled into thinking that this film is nothing more than a short, humorous rendition of no particular student’s night out on the town. It is in fact just that.
In this movie, Armand Aucamp portrays a socially adept but romantically disabled young man, Danie, whose fruitless attempts at charming women ends in a series of humorous encounters and embarrassments. On each adventure, accompanying friends make sometimes-comical attempts at inspiring Danie to achieve his goal of scooping the girl of his dreams. All the while, a simple lighter acts as catalyst for these dynamics to combine.
Drinking, awkward social encounters and bantering friends make up what can only be described as an honest showcase of unpretentious talent and dedication. The filmmaker’s particular style fits the script like a glove, and the informal on set interactions ripple throughout the entire five minutes making this a feel-good experience not to miss.
