Film department creates a documentary for the Nelson Mandela Childrens' Foundation
CityVarsity’s Film Department at the Newtown campus is currently working on a documentary, entitled, “Children of South Africa,” which is part of a project Nelson Mandela Children Foundation project- MaAfrika Tikkun.

The documentary is an international production which is a follow- up of the documentary, “Children of China” which was originally produced for the Beijing Olympics and was aimed at showcasing the lives of different children of the nation.

The documentary will be made by three CityVarsity students, Deenan Naidoo, Gershon Rhoda and O’Neil Benjamin, and will focus on children in Jo’burg, Kwazulu Natal, North West Province and the Western Cape.

Cape Town students will be joining Deenan, Gershon and O’Neill for the second phase of the project which consists of the filming in the Western Cape.
