Richard first completed a National Diploma in Information Technology at the University of Technology in Cape Town before doing a graphic design course a few years later, when he realized 3D was his passion. He lived in Japan for five years, freelancing for independent game development and web design companies, before returning to South Africa to study computer animation full time for two years (3D Studio Max and Maya). He then worked on the TV series “Get Bushwise” for Granada TV UK, did an ad for television, and worked on various freelance projects. He is currently lecturing and freelancing.
