Natasha has been with the company since 2009. She started out as a junior receptionist in June 2009. When Natasha came for the interview she recalls the interviewer telling her that the contract was only for one month and not to expect it to be renewed. She said “That’s okay” little knowing that the finance department had an opening and she was in the department for three months. Her contract ended and she was only home for a month when the sales department head-hunted her to be the sales administrator for the peak season. She was initially given a contract for three months. Then in December 2009 the Office Manager resigned, Natasha applied for the position and the rest as they say is history.

Natasha is currently doing part time Business Management studies at Damelin Mowbray through SIAM to enhance her skills as a team player within the group. That’s all for now folks!!

Bernie Marques Marques, Bernie

Bernie started her career in the collections division of a firm of attorneys, then diversified into sales and then moved back to finance. Today she is still with finance at CityVarsity but in a very vibrant, trendy and creative atmosphere.

Dealing with accounts and students is a pleasurable experience for her especially when students achieve the goals they set and then become successful in the world of entertainment and media – Moms and Dads it makes all those payments and sacrifices worthwhile.

Nicci Van Der Horst Van Der Horst, Nicci

Nicci has been working in academic administration at CityVarsity for the past nine years in various positions. She is passionate about students and assist them wherever possible in achieving their dreams in their chosen discipline.

Monica Nhariwa Nhariwa, Monica
(Librarian)

“Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my mate.”

After having studied for a Diploma in Education in Zimbabwe, Monica taught there for 10 years before coming to South Africa. She has worked as an Office Assistant and then Librarian for CityVarsity for the past three years. This is her first time in the film environment, and has made her more passionate about movies and the film industry. Her wish now is to do television presenting as she enjoys talking, having an audience and being in the limelight and to continue with film studies.

Charlton Fredericks Fredericks, Charlton
(Senior Student Consultant)

Charlton studied IT at the IT Business Campus, which he later realized was one of the few mistakes he made in his lifetime. He found his calling in sales and customer service in 1998.

Charlie has worked for organizations such as Telkom, Hotline Insurance and ICG. From the call centre, he moved into PR co-ordinating for ICG where he had a few minutes of fame on the TV show \\\"Let\\\'s fix it\\\" by giving away INTEC college bursaries. He then left ICG in 2008 to work as an adventure facilitator for Focus Adventure in Singapore. He also has a passion for Asian culture.

Upon his return, he worked in the events industry before joining CityVarsity as a student consultant and schools marketer. He\\\'s very passionate about community and charity work. He co-founded a charity organisation called Circle of Friends, who arrange charity events throughout the year, helping children’s homes, children’s hospitals, and retirement homes and arrange book and toy runs.

Some people think of him as a super hero, but he\\\'s just a simple guy, who loves animals, traveling, playing sport, wearing flip flops, watching British comedies and hanging out with friends.

Anthilly Snyder Snyder, Anthilly
(Senior Student Advisor)

Anthilly has been with CityVarsity since April 2001. From the outset she rendered excellent in various capacities before being appointed to her current position as Senior Student Advisor. The experience she gained in these posts equipped her with sound product knowledge that she uses to the benefit of both the prospective students and CityVarsity.

Anthilly’s warm, caring personality is ideally suited for the interaction students and other clients required of her. Her interpersonal skills are complemented by a sound work ethic and dedication to the interests of CityVarsity.

It came as no surprise when, in 2007, Anthilly Snyder was judged to be the top Student Consultant in the Educor group out of a group of more than 800 other consultants---just reward for her commitment and professionalism.

Chanél Engelbrecht Engelbrecht, Chanél
(Lecturer And Pr Administrator)

After travelling and living abroad Chanel completed her BEd degree with Distinctions in Psychology and Teaching Practice. She has extensive experience as a Sales Manager and brings that experience along with a passion and understanding of education to the CV team. Her ethos for lifelong learning is leading her to complete studies in Marketing and Industrial Psychology. She continues to work and study believing the age old anecdote that knowledge truly is power.

Evette Maarman Maarman, Evette
(Compliance Officer)

Campus:  Cape Town

Evette is qualified as a Technical Financial Accountant. She has spent most of her working life in Finance and Management and adds a Certificate in Project Management to her list of credentials. She is head of our Health and Safety team and runs a tight ship where student and staff health and safety are concerned. Evette isn’t all about the numbers, a great lover of dance, hiking and reading, she brings an infectious energy and zest for life to the CityVarsity team.

Evert Lombaert Lombaert, Evert
(National Public Relations Manager)

Campus:  Cape Town

After having studied TV-Journalism at Rhodes University, Evert studied Camerawork and Lighting at CityVarsity. Besides being our national PR manager, he also lectures film analysis, setiquette and TV-journalism. In his capacity as GQ Magazine’s Film Editor, he has interviewed numerous film personalities including Sean Bean and Morgan Freeman. Apart from his camerawork on award-winning short films ‘Portrait of a Dark Soul’, ‘Considerately Killing Me’ and ‘Seethe’, he’s also shot and directed numerous shorts, including ‘No Pain, No Gain’, ‘Nurses’, ‘Bride to Be’ and ‘Newborn’. In 2010, he wrote ‘The World’s A Stage’, a crime novel, which he is currently editing and re-working into a screenplay.

Allan Locke Locke, Allan
(Senior LAN Administrator)

Campus:  Cape Town

After obtaining his Diploma in IT Engineering Allan travelled and lived abroad, on his return he spent time roaming the country before finding a home in Cape Town and ultimately CityVarsity.

Allan joined CityVarsity early 2009 and brings with him extensive experience in systems administration. A constant scholar to technology and a keenness to understand everything that is IT, CityVarsity allows him to do this creatively.

Cyriaque Ongagna Ongagna, Cyriaque
(Desktop Support)

Campus:  Cape Town

Cyriaque studied Business Economics at University Marier Ngomasi in Congo (Brazzaville).

After he obtained his degree, he moved to South Africa. Here he completed his A+ and N+ Networking at IT Intellect in Cape Town. He has also completed courses on security systems (CCTV, alarm installation and access control) at Inhep Digital Training in Cape Town.

Cyriaque worked for Safpro and Securimart as technician. In 2010 he joined CityVarsity as guard. After 4 months move to the position in desktop support.
